Hi Alain and Scot.

I have tagged GLEXEC-OSG_v0_6.

It builds on x86_rhas_3,x86_rhas_4,x86_rhap_5,x86_64_rhas_3,x86_64_rhas_4

These are the same platforms the previous tag was builing on.

BTW: I am failing on
x86_64_rhap_5
because automake is not installed on nmi-0104.

Cheers,
Igor

Thanks for your work on the new glexec! Does this one fix the security
issues we talked about a few months ago?

automake is installed an nmi-0104 as a prereq. Does it work to use it?

You can do the following:

prereqs_x86_64_rhap_5 = automake-1.10

or

prereqs_x86_64_rhap_5 = automake-1.9.2

Can you try a build with that?

Thanks!

They added this packages a few hours ago.
I am sending a build now... will let you know.

I don't think we can, or should, rely on LDAP being pre-installed. If
it was pre-installed on other computers, we were lucky. If we want it
to build against LDAP, we should bring it along.

Do we need the LDAP stuff in glexec?

It gets in with the dependencies.

Oscar may want to comment.

So you mean that it should be brought along already? In that case, I
don't think there's much I can do to help. Perhaps Oscar can help, as
you say.

Hi Igor, Gabriele and Alain,

The lcmaps-plugins-basic package holds a few LCMAPS plugins, like the
(DN based) localaccount, (DN based) poolaccount, posix_enforcement
(setuid, setgid, setgroups), a good and bad dummy plugin and an
ldap-enforcement plugin.

The ldap_enf plugin will enforce the mapping in the LDAP space (when
explicitly configured of course). The basic library binaries for LDAP
are usually available on the systems.

During the build of this module in the package ldap-devel is assumed to
be available.

For completeness sake I hope that's not a problem to add the ldap-devel
package on the build machines so that the lcmaps-plugins-basic package
can still be packaged. Besides the other plugins I think that the basic
good and bad dummy packages can come quite handy when slighty more
complex plugin execution policies need to be defined.

cheers,

Oscar

My understanding is that we (the VDT) doesn't need this LDAP module at
all, since we're using the interface to GUMS. Can we simply disable
LDAP?

I might be able to request LDAP to be installed on some computers, but
in general I can't assume that it's pre-installed on a computer. We
can have a long discussion about the philosophy of building software,
but suffice it to say that it's tricky for us to rely on software
being pre-installed. In this case, I would rather just turn it off,
rather than mess around with the installation.

Igor--

The x86_64_rhap_5 computer now has the ldap-devel RPM installed. Wanna
try again?

Thanks,

Great!

Alain,
can you let us know the schedule to have the new gLExec packaged in VDT?
What can we do to help?

Thanks
Gabriele

I'm trying the build now. If all works as expected, we'll combine it
with GUMS and PRIMA, since it's all authorization-related. Does that
seem reasonable to you?

I think Scot Kronenfeld will contact Igor separately. If possible, we
would like to test glexec as part of our daily VDT tests, which we
haven't done to date. It's not essential, but it would be a good
thing. So hopefully we can get that rolling.

Thanks,
-alain

That is very good.

Does this mean that VDT will have a test cash for GUMS and PRIMA that
VTB/ITB can start using OR they'll need to wait for gLExec to be in the
mix to access any of these? Sorry... I guess I don't have a good feeling
of how long packaging of gLExec will take.

If this can be arranged, it is a good thing.

It should be in the same cache. Assuming the build goes smoothly, glexec
will be packaged today.

Great!

I was talking to Igor and he mentioned that the installation script
should be slightly different from what is currently in VDT. He sent
email to you previously, so you might know everything about this already...

Thanks
Gabriele
